La Bastide de Marie by Yonder

"La Bastide de Marie, a 5-star hotel in the Luberon region located in Ménerbes, near the picturesque villages of Bonnieux and Gordes, is a charming estate nestled in the heart of the garrigue. This stone Provençal farmhouse, with its tiled roof, is surrounded by 23 hectares of vineyards, cypress trees, and lavender fields—an idyllic setting for a romantic getaway in Provence. La Bastide de Marie features 12 rooms, including 8 suites, all designed in the true spirit of Provence: antique furniture, natural materials, and that inimitable patina that is the hallmark of Maisons Sibuet (also found in Megève, Saint-Tropez, and Saint-Barth)."

"The Bastide Room, also 25 m² in size and opening onto the vineyards or the patio, features shades of aster mauve, Nîmes blue, vanilla, or lime green, with either an open or separate bathroom, complete with a bathtub and shower. The Marie Suite, ranging from 45 to 50 m², opens onto the vineyards or gardens and combines a bedroom with a sitting area that can accommodate two children. The colors vary depending on the chosen theme, ranging from sage gray to green anise or ivory white. The bathroom includes a bathtub, while the shower and toilet are separate. More spacious, the Family Suite offers 67 m² on the garden level, featuring a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a living room, and a terrace opening directly onto the gardens, as well as a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower room.

In the kitchen, Chef François Martin—who has honed his skills at renowned Michelin-starred restaurants—crafts meticulously precise dishes every day. At dawn, he visits the market, selects his ingredients, and creates plates that evolve with the seasons. Herbs and heirloom vegetables grown using permaculture methods on the estate bring bold flavors inspired by the earthy, warm flavors of the Mediterranean. On the menu: a perfectly tender aged beef tenderloin, melt-in-your-mouth Ventoux black pork, or a John Dory subtly infused with bay leaf. Everything is fresh, meticulously prepared, and thoughtfully crafted down to the last detail.

On certain evenings, dinner is served in the large greenhouse, beneath a sky turning pink behind the vineyards. The light from the lanterns dances across the arbor crafted by a local metalworker. When the evening chill sets in, guests head to the Dining Room: a chic yet rustic setting, furnished with pieces sourced from nearby flea markets. Tables set with unbleached linen and delicate tableware create a scene that will charm lovers of an unpretentious Provençal lifestyle. To extend the spirit of the house, the team also prepares picnic baskets to be enjoyed at a stone table nestled in the heart of the garrigue, somewhere among pine trees, bright light, and the stillness of the landscape. La Bastide is just a short walk from the Le Domaine de Marie winery, where guests can discover local wines, tour the cellars, and participate in the grape harvest in September. A unique wine-tasting experience. Also worth exploring: an incredible vegetable garden, herb garden, and working farm.

The spa at La Bastide de Marie offers treatments inspired by the benefits of Provençal nature, using products made from local plants and flowers. The facilities include a treatment room dedicated to Pure Altitude rituals, a heated pool on the patio side, and a second pool on the garden side where guests can soak up the Provençal sun.

Good to know: Just a stone's throw from the main building, properties such as Mas Vermentino and Villa Grenache offer an even more intimate stay. These buildings have 5 to 6 bedrooms and are available year-round, making them ideal for a getaway with family or friends, or a seminar in Provence.
