Around, the hills of the Luberon planted with oaks and vines, the lavender whose scent perfumes the warm air, the olive trees. Inside, a large courtyard partly shaded with a summer lounge with terracotta benches and colored wrought iron seats surrounding a beautiful fireplace. There, we take the time to meet, when we do not linger in the large summer kitchen, next door, whose table can accommodate a dozen guests. In the cool of the morning, listening to the water flowing in the small fountain against the wall, you can savor your coffee and your homemade breakfast, prepared every day by the housekeeper who will come back at snack time, arms full of wonders to be eaten. This century-old farmhouse is rented with 5-star hotel services: daily cleaning, access to the services of La Bastide de Marie, concierge service, Pure Altitude spa... Depending on the time of day and the sun's course, you can rest in various parts of the courtyard or enjoy the pool, just behind the large glass-like door. A long stone pool ideal for swimming, especially since it is heated, bordered by bougainvillea and sunbathing.

A Taste of Provence

And when the heat or the languor tells us to withdraw, we take advantage of this farmhouse with thick walls that keep the cool. The authentic and refined décor is an invitation to relax: terracotta, cookie and sunflower yellow colors, sunshine mirrors, beautiful vintage ceramics, a collection of handmade terracotta pots and vases, still lifes, basketry, beautiful books and a collection of small objects.

We love to curl up in one of the two living rooms, with their natural tones between earth and sun, with their rough wood furniture, linen fabrics and tiled floors, or to wander around the large kitchen with its leafy green tones and its piano. Lacanche, stay in the dining room, which you enter from the courtyard, or slip away to one of the six bedrooms. All are different, decorated with care in this spirit of elegant simplicity.

Some overlook the patio, others the priest's garden, where we pick aromatic herbs for cooking when we feel like it, or the crests of the Luberon and the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire. And to close the day? We savor a good glass of rosé or white wine from the Domaine de Marie, just next door, while playing petanque on the field lined with olive trees. A real enchanted interlude.
